Chelan County Weed Board
Chelan County Noxious Weed Control Department contacted us to assess and treat an infestation of a class B noxious weed, Myrtle Spurge (Euphorbia Myrsinites). The area was 8.5 acres on a steep hillside that they deemed too unsafe to survey and treat on foot due to cliffs, loose rocks, and the presence of rattlesnakes. This species has an aggressive infestation rate and is difficult to control once widespread. Our primary goal was to identify where and how much Myrtle Spurge was within this area and then treat what we could.
We conducted a High Precision Survey of the target area then used AI to identify each Myrtle Spurge or groupings within it. We found that a majority of it was located within two rock outcroppings, penned in at the north and south. We delivered back to them a prescription map with the locations of 196 plants and our treatment plan.

We will follow up to do a monitoring survey to assess progress of the treatment plan and efficacy of our aerial herbicide application. Stay tuned!
